G'day mates, I came across this fw ctl pstat output. Can anybody explain in detail what these statistics say? OK, I understand the memory stats, but what the heck doeas the Inspct part mean? Or the cookies? Thanks in advance. Jörg PS. This is a stat after 14 days of continueous FW-1 operation. Does the numbers look reasonable for that? # fw ctl pstat Hash kernel memory (hmem) statistics: Total memory allocated: 5242880 bytes in 1279 4KB blocks using 1 pool Total memory bytes used: 189672 unused: 5053208 (96%) peak: 1558116 Total memory blocks used: 88 unused: 1191 (93%) Allocations: 32135947 alloc, 0 failed alloc, 32132390 free System kernel memory (kmem) statistics: System physical memory: 786309120 bytes Available physical memory: 49283072 bytes Total memory bytes used: 7039015 peak: 8082859 Allocations: 797364 alloc, 0 failed alloc, 796562 free, 0 failed free Inspct: 6730440 packets, operations, 201018269 lookups, 7580722 record, extract Cookies: 240666755 total, 0 alloc, 0 free, 5003779 dup, 304251629 get, 105118778 put, 569289775 len, 0 chain alloc, 0 chain free Fragments: 94370 fragments, 29002 packets, 0 expired, 0 short, 0 large, 0 duplicates, 0 failures Encryption: 30 encryption, 31 decryption, 23 short, 0 failures Translation: 68908622/120026007 forw, 53096283/120718347 bckw, 121730802 tcpudp, 274103 icmp,340 alloc // pallas GmbH ............
