Mark, my BSOD were caused by GUI inserting too many spaces in config files...funny not it is... I got them AFTER using SBFC GUI and rebooting :-( -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, September 25, 2000 17:42 To: Ilya Yudiel Cc: '[email protected]' Subject: Re: [FW1] 4.1 SP1 & Stonebeat 1.0/2.0 Compatibility The BSOD is usually caused by a NIC with a GUI software "agent". Intel runs ProMon, and 3Com has their SmartAgent. Both are GUI tools in NT, usually represented by a network card icon in the system tray by the clock. The tools typically display the LEDs on the NIC, and information about the link status, duplex mode, etc. None of the functionality of such agents is necessary or required, or recommended for a firewall. But these agents are often installed by default, and can be difficult to remove. Because of the level at which they interface with the network card itself (being about the same spot between layer 1 and 2 as the StoneBeat FullCluster driver), they can conflict with FullCluster's driver and cause the BSOD. We recommend you remove those agents first, before installing the FullCluster driver. The easiest way to remove them is to edit the Registry key at: HLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete any items in there with paths to network card software. Intel's runs PROMON.EXE; I don't recall what 3Com calls theirs, but it would be there and should be obvious. Installed SB driver - reboot,Stonebeat itself - reboot - Blue screen - reboot to "Last Known Good" - command line - cbconfig - manual cofiguration - reboot - works like a charm since that. As I said - Dump the GUI!!! -----Original Message----- From: Yaw Yee Chong [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2000 17:52 To: Ilya Yudiel Subject: Re: [FW1] 4.1 SP1 & Stonebeat 1.0/2.0 Compatibility so far..my main problem is when i try to up both firewall at the same time.. it will cause both firewall server to give me "blue screen".. any idea?
