Once a week I check the size. Once they reach 500MB, I do a File New Log. I then zip the files and move them to an archival area on a different server. My current log name is fw.log10. Is there a limit of 10 or something along those lines?? -----Original Message----- From: Zeltser, Roman [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, September 29, 2000 10:22 AM To: John Warner; [email protected] Subject: RE: [FW1] Creating new logs To give you an advice we need more details. I usually don't wait until my log file will reach some certain size. Based on statistics I switch large logs several times a day saving them to a zipped file (appending to each other during a day, but this is optional). ========================================================= Best, Roman M. This has worked flawlessly for the last several months, until today. Any ideas.....?
