Yep, I had hoped that when I ordered the new 4.1 module (and my 4.1 upgrade for my existing firewall) that the vendor (who HAS records of the fact that they've sold us FloodGate, MetaIP, FireWall-1, VPN-1, and licensed SecureRemote for us) would make sure that we had all the proper cert keys ready for the new install. Otherwise they're just a software store... Well, guess what? If I'm gonna have to take care of all this every time myself, then there's no compelling reason to stick with the current VAR, is there? Many others have been driven similarly nuts by the same issue - read on... In addition to getting a new license for the firewall and management station, you must, just like in 4.0, request a separate license for SecuRemote. It is free, but you have to ask for it (grrr!). If your VAR is good, you can call them and they'll give you a cert key immediately. Good luck - Dan Hitchcock CCNA, MCSE Network Engineer Xylo, Inc. When you try to update the client, they get an 'Error: The site is not licensed to perform the requested action', but FW VER *does* show VPN + DES + STRONG .... Anyone ? The install (upgrade mode as opposed to overwrite mode) went without errors, the PUTLIC string was accepted without errors, but when I tried to run the Management GUIs (Policy, Log, etc) I got a 'no license for interface' error and the GUIs exited. I have uninstalled and back running on the 4.0 successfully, but would love to hear if anyone else has experienced this anomaly and how you got past it. Thanks in advance!
