The NIC’s
work fine under other builds of NT.
I had this happen almost a year ago, and when I couldn’t fix things, I
rebuilt the Firewall and everything worked again…
Any other
suggestions would be most appreciated,
Thanks,
Vincenzo

Have you bothered
replacing the nic cards? Maybe they are faulty.

Subject: [FW1] routing stops
All,
This is my
configuration:
Single P-2 450 256MB
NT4.0sp5 box with FW-1 4.1sp2. 2 D-Link quad port NIC's
Problem:
Firewall ran fine, low
CPU and memory loads, for 5 weeks unbooted. Then
one afternoon, routing just stops. Maybe 5% of the packets get through
the gateway. Reboot didn't help. I did an fwstop, routing still
didn't work properly, fwstart, same results. Does anyone have an idea as
to why routing would just die without any errors in the NT logs or FW logs?
Thanks in advance,
Vincenzo C.
