RE: [FW1] Checkpoint support

Not to continue the spam thread but I would rather read the commercial ads than the 10 zillion out of the office messages so many people on this list seem so fond of! Many of us work EXTREMELY hard to help answer the questions on this list for free, and those that do contribute have a right to advertise their services IMHO. Especially at this point in the Firewall game, as CheckPoint is now charging their VARS for support, and the charge is not a trivial amount. You might not enjoy everything you read, but I suspect that we can all learn to use the delete key to remove objectionable materials. I personally would not post in the manner that Marc did, but I also dont have an issue with it. I limit my "adverstising" to an occasional .sig message. People then know how to find me if they need to. I do not want to see this becoming a heavily moderated list, and I suspect most of you dont want that either. If you contribute very little, or not at all (In other words ask alot of questions, rarely answer any) you have absolutely no right to complain. Bitch less, and contribute more!!! (Stepping off of soapbox)

Under normal circumstances, I would agree with you. I am the first to speak up against spamming.

Reason for my sending this email through the group is because I felt it was the most efficient way to get to people who are experiencing Checkpoint support problems, and let them know that someone is in a position to assist in resolving them once and for all. As such, I didn't view my posting as being spam.

Best regards,

Marc

I am not sure how others feel on this list, but I think that using technical
listservers for commercial advertising is spamming as well, and is not an
appropriate use of listserv groups.

Good day all,

After reading several postings, it's seems that many of you have experienced difficulties in one fashion or another when came the time to get support from Checkpoint.

Light Tree Technologies may be in a position to assist you. We have several years of experience in dealing with Checkpoint and resolving issues quickly. Light Tree also has a program in place designed to:

- Resolve licensing issues quickly
- Eliminate the administration burden associated with managing your various maintenance  & support contracts
- Get relevant information re: upgrades & updates, new products
- FAQ database

We are also in a position to supply Maintenance & support contract (phone support) from a certified Checkpoint Service Center, which can address your issues faster and very often more efficiently than Checkpoint AND, at a better price.

Some of you have already received information on our program and thought it to be spamming. My apologies for that, it wasn't the intention. Hence the reason for this posting.

Additional information can be found on our web site at http://www.lighttree.net/cpla.htm, by emailing me at [email protected] or calling me at.

Best regards,
