When you get this message, there is an option in the bottom of the message box that says don't show me this error again. I would bet you supressed the warning on the one firewall.... Rick McMaster ePlus Technology http://www.eplus.com -----Original Message----- From: Desmond Irvine [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, January 05, 2001 2:52 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [FW1] Spoofing warning I have two machines that have FW-1 v4.1 installed on them. On one when I try to install a policy I get a warning stating that I am about to install a security policy "without limiting the valid addresses on its interfaces." On the other I don't get this message. Both machines are supposed to be exactly the same so I don't understand why I don't get the message on both. I've seen the FAQ entry (http://www.phoneboy.com/fw1/faq/0140.html) that describes why I'm getting the message, but both machine do not have the security on the interfaces defined. Is there some other switch or setting that turns this warning message on or off? I realize that I can (and should) fix this by defining security for the interfaces, but I want to find an explanation for the difference between the two before I hide a potential problem. Thanks. ============================================================================ ==== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ============================================================================ ==== ================================================================================ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================================================
