Can you?!

This is how other servers/mail clients connect to your SMTP server
anyway.

What you could do if you have firewall (or not) is to have your ISP be
MX for your domain and then forward (statically) mail to your SMTP
server. This way you only get connections to your SMTP host from single
machine. Thus limit access to your SMTP from that machine only.
