Linksys or Netgear or any of the other devices like them are just as prone to
being hacked as any other device stuck out on the Internet. I am surprised it
hasn't happened already. Maybe it has and we just haven't heard about
it. Linksys might have made the first hack-proof system but
I sure wouldn't put any money on it (nothing against Linksys
here).
So,
that being said, it just depends on your level of paranoia. I'm not going
to run zone alarm at home behind my Linksys router but if I had one protecting
my critical business data, that extra level of protection might
make me sleep a little better at night.
