RE: [FW1] Legato + Checkpoint


Chad,

legato recommends that the following ports be open on the packet filtering
fw. 

111 tcp & udp
7937-9339 tcp & udp
10001 - 20000 tcp & udp

they also recommend that these ports be open both ways, between client and
backup server. I am not sure how BSM's regard all these ports, but I am able
to do simple file system backups via the following method.

i was able to backup a system in a de-militarized zone only using port 7937.

this works wonderfully. be careful though when using NAT. if your backup
server is in a private address range and you are natting, setup a manual NAt
rule to keep the IP's original.
