Alright, I have found a thousand messages in the archives at http://www.shmoo.com/mail/fw1/ site. However, nothing seems to address the problem I am having with DNS. The closest I've found is http://www.shmoo.com/mail/fw1/feb00/msg00287.shtml I have a Windows 2000 client running Secure Client (aka SecuRemote) build 4166 connecting to resources behind a RH Linux 6.1 (2.2.12-20) FW-1 4.1 SP3 firewall. I have been able to mount shares from Samba servers (by IP address), telnet, and all the other wonderful things I want to do *except* perform name resolution. All requests to the listed name server on the 2000 laptop timeout. nslookup requests fail. Basic IP connectivity is working over the VPN so what's going on. I have disabled MD5 Data Integrity for myself and when I try any DNS related query, it still fails (even after restarting the firewall). The only thing I haven't done is reboot the firewall server itself. Does anyone have any ideas on why this configuration is not working? The articles in the archive seem to indicate that, in the great M$ tradition, SecuRemote/Secure Client configuration parameters change with every release. The documentation I've seen is sketchy at best and hieroglyphic at worst. I am begging for anyone who might know how to make this work to please shine the light of knowledge on me.
