Hi Chuck, > Using fw-1 3.0b on a Sun Solaris 2.6 system, is there a shell command > that will remove a workstation object from the database? I have not heard of such a beast so if you find out about one please let me know. However, as objects.C and the '.W' files are easy to parse I don't think this is a difficult thing to do. I use a perl script which tries to check if objects defined in objects.C are referenced elsewhere in either objects.C or the .W file. It isn't perfect but does show me unused objects (it also shows a few that are used because it doesn't check for objects referenced in the firewall object interface definitions). If I had some spare time I would like to tackle this. I'm learning python in my spare time so perhaps I can try this as a learning exercise but don't hold your breath. :-) If you want to look at my perl script for checking for unused objects let me know. It is a quick and dirty script so would come with no warranty, etc. :-) Regards, Roy ================================================================================ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================================================
