Hello. Basically the Major difference between the 2 is that VRRP is NOT !!! a firewall dedicated solution !!! VRRP is a global configuration for Router / L3 Switches to provide redundancy , to put it in a raw format VRRP works when one Machine (NOKIA) waits on an IP x.x.x.x and the other one works on X.x.x.y , the moment machine A fails , machine B takes its place. In this way you can configure a LB solution by routing half of your LAN traffic through one VRRP router while the other half through the other (I'm not sure it is possible on Nokia Devices) StoneSoft offers a complete HA / LB solution with Stone Soft 2.0 Full Cluster this solution provides not only HA but ACTIVE \ ACTIVE solution where both firewalls operate and share the load between them simultaneously.
