FW-1 integrates with the OS by use of a kernel driver, responsible for interacting with the IP stack. It is not designed to intergrate with parts of the kernel responsible for processing, or indeed, multi-processing. This means that it will make full use of what the OS gives it. If the OS can handle multi-processors, then FW-1 will sit on top and function without problems. This link's getting a bit of a cliche now, but it shows tests carried out on multi-processor system. http://www.checkpoint.com/products/firewall-1/pbrief.html Tim ----- Original Message ----- From: Sommariva Graziano <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: 26 March 2001 07:46 Subject: [FW1] Fw-1 running on a multi-CPU system > > Does anybody know whether Check-Piont FW-1 takes advantage running on a > multi CPU system? > > Best Regards, > > > Graziano Sommariva > *Phone:. > *E-Mail: [email protected] > > Network Manager > TLC - Telecomunicazioni > SSC - Service Unit Servizi Continuativi > Elsag S.p.A. > > > > ============================================================================ ==== > To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at > http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html > ============================================================================ ==== > ================================================================================ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================================================
