[FW-1] STP = Land Attack?

Has anyone had any incidences where spanning tree causes false positives for a MAD land_attack?

I have a series of firewalls seperated by Nortel switches running spanning tree, and I am getting loads of land_attacks. This network isn't connected to the internet, and isn't in use; the application it has been built for isn't in place yet. So pretty much the only traffic I have is snmp, various firewall-1 protocols, and vrrp.

The only thing unusual on the relevent interface of the firewall issuing the alert is stp service announcements.

Any thoughts?
