IPSO 3.4.2 and CP FW_1 NG were only released one week ago. Be careful about designing any solution that may _require_ this combo as it hasn't been out in the field too long. Aside from that, VRRP (use monitored circuits) allows Nokia boxes for fail-over to another perfectly. If you want to use a Nokia NAP as the IDS sensor I'm afraid you're limited to RealSecure until I get snort running on the Nokia. If you will have non-Nokia sensors, snort is fabulous and will run on nearly any platform you could want. I'm very fond of the dual-NIC Sun Netra X1 boxes for IDS sensors these days. I have a project to design which requires CheckPoint NG on IPSO (Nokia IP440) and would like to include the above. The firewall will be in place to protect a webserver running iis5.
