[FW-1] RE: [FW-1] IP 330 rebooting when pushing a policy

Title: RE: [FW-1] IP 330 rebooting when pushing a policy

The RDP+flows hotfix includes two files: a replacement for the fw binary itself and a replacement for the kernel module loader (fwmod.o).  The client auth memory leak hotfix replaces the firewall binary only, but is more recent that the binary in the RDP hotfix.

So, what you should install is:

- the fw binary from the client auth mem leak hotfix
- fwmod.o from the RDP+flows hotfix (this resolves the error you describe below).

I've already installed a Hotfix for the Client Authentication memory leak.
Will this Hotfix overwrite the previous?

There is an hotfix for Nokia appliances running 3.4.x and 4.1 SP5 called
Nokia Flows and RDP fix.  You may need to install that hotfix, it's
available on Checkpoint website.

I think that should resolve the issue.

        Folks,

This has happened to me twice today on a Nokia IP330
appliance
        running IPSO 3.4.1 and FW-1 4.1-sp5 (build (41510). I have been
making some
policy revisions and twice tonight when I pushed that policy, the
following
happens. The gui checks the policy then displays:

Installing Security Policy post-bak on all.all@post-trib01
        Using external interface 'eth-s3p1c0'

Its at this point the machine reboots. I've checked the system log,
but
there is no info as to why the box reboots.

Any help or insight as to what may be causing this would be
appreciated.

        Thanks,
