Hi,

Don't forget your license might be linked to your external IP address.
Also all dns info on the internet needs to be changed. Perhaps its a
good idea to decrease the TTL to lets say 15min or so a few
days(depending on the current TTL) before you switch IP. So when you
make the switch, within 15min everybody on the internet should know the
new IP.

Regards,

Werner

Subject: [FW-1] changing firewalls IP addr

Hi,

My company is switching over to a new ISP, thus we will have a new IP
address for our CheckPoint FW-1 4.1 firewall running on a Nokia Ip-440.

Are there any issues I should be aware of with regard to switching to a
new
IP address.

I know how to do so via voyager, and I know that I need to change other
things like ARP info and static routes and such.

But are there any other, more insidious, issues that I need to consider?

thanks,

Rich Quinn
