I have been having problems with some of my Secure Remote users. They are behind broadband routers, some the Linksys and some the SMC. I'm not sure if that is the problem or not. I do have the firewall configured with IPSEC and UDP encapsulation and Secure Remote works with the broadband routers, even multiple users behind the same router. My problem is that occasionally telnet sessions hang. It appears that it has to do with inactivity; but there is no consistent time period. Sometimes less than a hour, sometimes more than a day of inactivity. The second problem on some clients, is the password box comes back up in the middle of a session, and other it hasn't popped up in weeks. I have the firewall configured so that there is no session timeout. The third and most disturbing problem is that sometimes the secure remote session seems to hang. When a user tries to reconnect they can not. There is a machine behind the firewall that has HTTP, SMTP and Telnet. SMTP and Telnet I require the use of secure remote. HTTP is open to everyone. When this problem occurs, the user cannot connect at all to this machine. Not even by HTTP, which doesn't use secure remote. It's like secure remote is eating all network traffic to this machine. The only way to fix this is to reboot the client machine. Any thoughts?
