[FW-1] AW: [FW-1] AW: [FW-1] Upgrade to NG FP2

Hi Ronnel,

No, I wouldn't recommend this because the FP2 built is distributed as patch
package only (at least the Unix part). The way did the upgrade of 4.1 is:

1. Ensure that your 4.1 is at least on SP4 or SP5 (especially when you want
to upgrade the OS as well, e.g. Solaris 2.6 to Solaris 8)
2. Upgrade 4.1 to NG FP1.
3. Upgrade NG FP1 to NG FP2.

Be careful if you going to upgrade your management (sshould be done first),
that's the most challenging part, especially when having many objects, rules
and rulebases. The modules should be no problem, it's straight forward.
However, be prepared that many things are completely different in NG and you
need to deal with SIC (secure internal communication). For short: Just read
the manuals right before!

Regards. Norbert

Hi Norbert,

Does that mean that I can upgrade my 4.1 and install FP2 without having to
install FP1?

Thanks.
