Title: High Availability with diferent MAC's This may be OT, but
there are many systems that have NIC's with duplicate MAC addresses. IBM
mainframe and midrange (AS/400) systems routinely have multiple NIC's with
identical MAC addresses. The hardware does not have a burned-in address (a
Universally Administered Address, UAA), instead the OS defines a locally
administered address (LAA). SNA communication uses this feature for redundant
paths to the host, as SNA clients only know the MAC address of the
host.
That said, I have no
idea why you would have to go beyond the CP document for setting up High
Availability. In that doc, they mention the need for two interfaces to have the
same IP address, but they do not say that the NIC's have to have the same MAC
address.
It is the duplicate MAC
address that is confusing the switch, mentioned in the original message below.
The typical layer two switch cares nothing about duplicate IP addresses, but
having duplicate MAC addresses in the same VLAN is probably
causing the problem.

Hi all. Is posible to configure HA with diferent MAC's? We´re using HA with the same MAC and IP address, but we're having problems with our switches, some of our established sessions cut or have delays to connect. thanks in advanced. --- ---
