It's also possible that the firewall could have you locked out itself. I
had this problem during a install on Nokia box. I had to do an "fwm unload
<name of firewall>" so it would let me in. Then you can install a
policy which lets you in from wherever you're coming from.

I'm having the same issue with NG FP2. Has anyone found a fix and/or
workaround for this problem? I have tried all suggestions in this mailing
list thus far with no success. Thanks for any additional help/suggestions.

I've installed CheckPoint
NG under WinNT4 SP6 no
problems. Installed
was the Enterprise Management & Enforcement Module for FW-1/VPN-1.
I added
an administrator with w/r access and added the IP of a GUI client.
>From the
GUI client, I can ping the FW-1/Management server,
also can ping GUI
client from the MS. When I try to connect to the MS using the NG Log
Viewer
or Policy Editor, I get the following error: 'Connection cannot be
initiated. Make sure that the Server 'x.x.x.x' is up and running.'
Please Suggest.
