Could be a remote server issue too.
Anyway, if this leads to func. problems :
1) Stop fw. services (cpstop)
2) Edit $FWDIR/lib/base.def
3) Comment out the following line :
#define FTP_ENFORCE_NL
to:
// #define FTP_ENFORCE_NL
4) Restart the fw services (CPSTART)
5) Re-install the sec. policy
