[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [FW-1] Port redirection for IIS server behind firewall
I have an IIS server sitting behind my firewall, and I installed a certificate and enabled SSL and have the default web server listening on 443. The server answers with https requests, but what I want to do is redirect all http requests to 443 to force encryption. I asked our IIS administrator and he started talking about redirections by adding lines to the default.html, but it seems that this should be relatively easy in the FW. It seems overly complicated, and a potential security hole to allow connection to 80 then redirect from within IIS. How is everyone doing this is the field, and can anyone point me to any good whitepapers and best practices on this?
